Recorded 3 different live electronics styles
▶︎BASIC, ▶︎BODY, ▶︎BUILD that started from 2016.
It’s just lately that I met him even though he’s been in noise scene for a long time. I’m indebted to him for live performances, but I was worried that I couldn’t make the sound that he convinced. I still feel that in same way but what I think of his performance is that he has a strong established aesthetics of the sound that he really wants to realize. His sensitivity is consistent throughout the sound itself to his behavior and his fashion, gears we holds. His sound represents an extremely harsh world, but that's been (in his word, "massive") based on sense of humor in same time. He always keeps that balances between hard and humor, and also his performance is based on a lot of basic practicing aiming for success as a "show". In improvisation, it’s necessary to build strong image training and technical skill training in order to create a unique mad worldview without lacking of atmosphere. Also It’s required to respond rightly and immediately to unpredictable and enthusiastic situations during the performance on the floor. However, as far as I know, there are no other Japanese noise musicians who can control that excellently like him. Only he could. In that respect, His performance has a high affinity to Hardcore/Harsh. I asked a man who from a crustcore band. Why you would do so many studio exercises. Then He answered, "Because it’s just simple." It seemed to be ambiguous, but because of the simplicity of the hardcore sound making, it seems unusual for the band sound to be concentrated and distinctive. In general, hardcore music requires people to have a hardcore way of life, and the life suppose to be hardcore, but in the case of him, His hardcore has a taste of a peculiarity of humor, and the show has a fictional pleasure. The show man who makes the world is the one, It’s BLACKPHONE666, what he sets on. He may have some vigilance in the dark and terrible side of noise music. The sense of balance between hardcore and humorous seems to be concentrated in one word that he often says, "The sensitivity of noise is everything of noise", and that sense has fashionable sharpness in the world of the BLACKPHONE666. It’s never to be obeyed in something of fixed world. This may his core to continue to make a perfect performance on the stage.
This work, 3B LIVE ELECTRONICS, consists of three parts that represents the three world that he presents in his art works.
Track 1 (︎▶︎BASIC) flows the massive sound that is the core of BLACKPHONE666. It based on Japanese-noise, while being aware of Western industrial and US harsh noise, also it's close to power electronics tastes, which is a very thin and niche approach in Japan currently. Heavy sounds and very hard staging. Agitating through a microphone bending a black phone is not clear to its meaning because of excessive processing, but a phonetic symbol, that’s a symbol of his humor, transport our consciousness to the parallel old times, where like Japanese-Horror world. Where eroded by obscured darkness and deep-seated grudges. The remaining two sounds are created from performances that are extremely shakes off from his core taste.
Track 2 (︎▶︎BODY) accelerates the criticality of the sounds. He approaches from the cut-up method and accelerates that through physical sensation based on actionism and performing art. Even if it says speed, that speed is not the speed of philosophy. Actually, the speed of the body controlling and the speed of the physical movement will never get so fast no matter how much heavy training has done. However, the limitation of the speed makes the resonate of sounding spaces, and his performance is filled with his own breathing sense. The sound is effectively composed with heavy dense samplings and electronic noises, and with cleverly manipulated. It gives a tension and a release to the human mind (or rightly say, breathing sensation). The physical sense of body movement that in terms of performing a noise provides musical effects of sounds. That purely sublimates "speed" which is one axis of his "massive sound".
On the other hand, in Track 3 (︎▶︎BUILD), which is based on the other axis of massive sound, “Heaviness”, the sound effects are considered more important, and expanding the sounding space which can be said like a cinematic orchestration. The digital / hi-fi production environment in recent years has enhanced the texture of the sounds of many DIY performers to more hi-fi tastes as infrastructure, and now the epic sound is a sensibility that symbolized as an era. The sounds in this track corresponds to such sensibility, However also the sounds is developed in the irrelevant part of these field. The irrelevant part is referred to here is perhaps his predilection for industrial music that occured in the late 70's and continues to now. It seems certain that the atmosphere of power noise and marshall industrial centered on Germany gives him some inspirations.
Decadence and Conservative tastes. The view of the world that cuts into the dark and fragile parts of the human spirit may be too aesthetically. The back street of the music culture growths the veins, crossed with the domestic environment in where he works, and nurture the aesthetic of the BLACKPHONE666. We’ve lived in this dystopic world for a long time, but the world never ends. Even if you get bored with these ruins, that never ends, you can't fit in there yet. That might be the characteristic point of the modern industrial sounds. In short, we are deeply bored to death. In this Track 3 (︎▶︎BUILD), theatrical stories are starting to work, but in here again, The voice samplings are still blurry and strange. Strange samplings got entangled to intense harsh noise and heavy electronics.
It seems that the sense of sounds clearly represents the industrial sounds of current.
When I mastered this track for him, I just had tried to make it as more massivelly, but he made a complaint to that masterd sounds. the voice samplings are too sharp for him. It's telling his sounding sensibility very well.
The reason for dropping such a three-part work seems to be to completely present the current sensibility of BLACKPHONE666.
He distinguishes the three worlds completely consciously, and builds it completely autonomously as a performance. However, as is always the case with highly abstract music, while being open to various interpretations, the appeal of specific image is weakened. This article is prepared as a supplement to a world view that he was convinced. However, I hope that this text, that based on what I felt in the context of our daily conversations with sound and music culture, will help us understand the obviousness of his view of the world. Of course, such texts are unnecessary addition essentially. However, in the world of noise, which is the low intelligibility, supplying by articles may also be necessary once in a while. The works is destined to leave the hand of the artists as soon as it’s released, but what the artists thinks and feels are very important if it’s based on the hardcore culture. We can fully feel his sensibility from the fact that this work is limited to 100 pieces that all handmade artwork. Also, all the tracks were recorded just one chance, no waveform edit.
Nevertheless, the presence of sounds are well built. After all, BLACKPHONE666 is consistent from work to performance and to recording. It's said that such a musician has an "attitude".

I cannot praise this album enough. This album is absolutely terrifying! The many starts and stops creates this very h settling tension. Each start expands on the stopper idea previously. It’s like the music equivalent of walking through thick fog while passing out multiple times throughout trying to find a place to orientate yourself. There may or may not be something sinister in that fog, but you don’t want to stick around to find out. Bought the vinyl so I summon the fog demons through spe showhornwithteeth

Although it's released in urgency, it's not a mere collection of leftover materials. It successfully delivers the cream of the current Japanese noise music. Great work. xJANCx
Cavernous electronic music that is pitch black and terrifically unsettling, this is the kind of thing that would score a xenomorph rave. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 22, 2022
